I cut her out using my nestabilities and added some Spring paper stack papers and some Bazzill papers! I love this stamp and I tend to use it alot!!

A challenge card and another rainy day. . .

After a beautiful weekend and Monday, we have had nothing but rain and gloom!! Seriously, I think the 3 days of sun was our spring!! We will probably see sun again around July for about three days!! I spent the weekend relaxing and de-stressing, I played a little in the craft room but mainly did nothing!! I worked on a few cards, including this one for the Our Creative Corner challenge. They wanted us to take this image and use it as inspiration for our card.
I had some alcohol ink backgrounds that I had played with, so I stamped a butterfly image from Hearts IN Touch and cut it out and found some color matching papers to make it blend together and use Making Memories rub on alphabet for the sentiment.

Unscripted Sketch #155 - Use something Recycled!

At Unscripted Sketches their piggy back challenge was to use something recycled with the sketch. In looking at the sketch,
and looking at all my embellishments, I decided to use a button from my button box. My button box was given to me years ago by my mom and she loaded it with new and used buttons. this one still had the brown thread on it!! I used a SU Fence stamp for the image and the sentiment is from CTMH set Dainty. I used the Cuttlebug distressed stripes for the brown.

Crazy 4 Challenges

Minnie!!!! I love my Disney stamps and Disney and Disneyland and pretty much anything Disney! I needed to make a Minnie card and when Crazy 4 Challenges wanted black cardstock to make your card pop, it was just what I could do!! I used some Disney paper and also the red and white dot from Echo Park's Dots and Stripes Metropolitan Collection. I have a bunch of the black cards that open in the middle so I used one of those. I also put white dots on Minnie's dress and bow!!

Deconstructed Sketch # 48

At Deconstructing Jen, the sketch this week was a hard one for me. I decided to use a sentiment and to use papers I usually don't use. The papers are Basic Grey Marrakech papers, an Art Impressions sentiment and some cheapo rhinestones - they are cheapo because the glue dot is bigger than the rhinestones and they are all hooked together -LOL. This sentiment stamp is one of my favorite quotes. I am kind of a stinker, not in a bad way, just a silly, spoiled rotten way!! I have 3 older siblings - They were 10, 12, and 17 when I was born, so since I was the baby, well behaved was not me!! LOL

Crafty Friends Challenge

At Crafty Friends Challenges, they challenged us to use two die cuts this time. I used a MFT Fancy Florish Die-namics and a butterfly cut out. I used the digital stamp Boobie Love from Saturated Canary. I learned about Saturated Canary from my friend and talented artist Jak Heath. I am so glad that Saturated Canary offered this digital stamp free for all to use. This card will be going in the mail soon, as we just found out a friend has just been diagnosed with breast cancer!

Cute Card Thursday - I Want Candy

Cute Card Thursday's challenge was I want Candy!! I pulled out the only candy stamps I have, SU candy hearts and the Mason jar from Hippo Heart. I made a couple heart masks and then a few to cut out!! I stamped the hearts and the jar and here is my take on I Want Candy!!!
This was for the sketch from Deconstructing Jen's and I loved doing this one. I just got this sweet stamp, Suzi with Bunny from I Brake for Stamps. Because we were without internet for 6 days, I did not get them uploaded in time for the challenge!!

I added some papers from Debbie Mumm Nursery Rhyme and a green glittery flower and some green gems. I love how this turned out!!

No cards, but a quilt top!!

In searching for some red, white and blue fabric in the big tub of it I have today, I ran across this quilt that I made in 2001. I don't remember the name of the pattern, and I changed it around, but it is to commemorate the planes and the twin towers! I found some fabric for the backing and I think this will be the next one after the baby quilts are done!! I didn't have time today to make any cards and since I am going to do a stack and whack quilt out of red white and blue colors with my sister's sewing group, I played in fabric when I had a free minute!!

A new challenge blog and using Vintage!!

There is a new challenge blog Crafty Friends Challenges. I learned about it from reading Beate's blog. When I was read about the Vintage part of the challenge I was trying to think about what vintage stamp to use, since I have alot and I was walking across the room when I spotted my Raggedy Ann and Andy pillow. This is from my childhood and it sits in my rocking chair (yes, from my childhood and covered in wild flower nogahide) in the living room for the little kids. So, I pulled out my Raggedy Ann stamp that I got from My Heart Stamps in 2000!!! Colored her in added some papers and ribbons.

Unscripted Sketch #152

Unscripted Sketches sketch this week I turned on its side. I used the Distressed Stripes folder for the brown background and Spots and Dots folder for the pink. I used Flower Bunny from Clear Dollar Stamps for my image. I did this card late last night after the husband was asleep - he had surgery for carpal tunnel on Friday on his left hand and will have the right hand done on this coming Friday - so he is keeping me on my toes!!!
