Wow, not a post in forever!!

I guess I have been pretty busy the last 6 months or so.  I haven't stopped creating, but obviously stopped blogging.
That is going to change.  I have been working on a new craft, called Pocket Letters.  These are two that I have created.  I love pink and brown so this one was so easy.

The Seahawks one was a blue, green and teal challenge.  That was hard to use teal.  I am not a teal or purple person
but I grabbed some teal to add to the blue and green.  Then I sent this off to our friend Barb in California.

Stay tuned because I am coming back, with a vengence.

Make a Wish (Deconstructed Sketch #185)

I loved the sketch at Deconstructing Jen  this week.  I got to use my new Stampin' Up bow maker punch and I made an easel card.  I am trying to make some different card shapes and thought this sketch was perfect.  I stamped Make a Wish (unknown stamp company) and then cut it out using my Spellbinders Petite Labels One and also the red flower behind it.  I used my Spellbinders circle dies and then embossed the red with my Stampin' Up decorative dots folder.  I used my Spellbinders Squares and scalloped squares for the next layers.  Then I used the bow maker punch for the bow.

On the inside I put the green printed paper down and then stamped the sentiment (SU 2000)  and cut it out and popped it up so that it made the easel card.

The red and green patterned papers are from Stampin' Up.  (Yes, I buy SU alot, since my niece sells it and we get together every month)

I am adding this card to Deconstructed Sketch 185.

Be Bada$$ every day ( Tuesday Morning Sketches #285)

The other day I got an awesome new stamp from Unity Stamp Co. called Badass Every Day.  I had to have this stamp as the whole sentiment is amazing.  I had seen the sketch at Tuesday Morning Sketches, and thought I would use this stamp for it.  I used my copics to give the banners some color and then layered it on scrap paper and and the printed paper from Lawn Fawn's Hello Sunshine.  I used some Sizzix dies to cut the little flowers and layered them with pearls.

I am going to add this to the Tuesday Morning Sketches #285  and also Unity's Fiday's Friends with Flair.

Life Is Good (CCT357)

COLORFUL!!  That was the challenge at Cute Card Thursday.  I grabbed my Lawn Fawn Life is Good set.  My favorite part of making my cards is the coloring.  It is so relaxing.  I had fun coloring the images with my Copics and then added some sparkles to the sand areas with my Clear Wink of Stella pen.  I used my Stitched Hillside Borders on some glittery silver paper and layered it on the sunshine paper from Lawn Fawn Hello Sunshine that I got from Willow Paper and Tools.  (Shout out to my cousin Heather, who is the owner of this business)  I added all the images and then stamped Life is Good.

It is pouring rain here today so I am dreaming of being on the sand here.  I think this might stay on my desk for a while.

I have added it to Cute Card Thursday Challenge 357 - Colorful.  Go and check out all the other cards.

Thanks a Latte!! (Lawnscaping Challenge 98)

This week over at the Lawnscaping Blog  the challenge was to create a background.

I pulled out my Love You A Latte set and using the go cup and heart and coffee bean stamps created my background.  I then used the go cup and stamped it once in black and once in red.  The red one I used the lawn cuts to cut it out and also the steam.  I used my Spellbinders circles to cut out the circles and then popped the red go cup on dimensionals over the black cup with the steam coming up between.  I glued the circles on top of the banner dies from Stampin' Up and stamped Thanks on it.  I popped up the banners over the brown ribbon.

I have put this in the Lawnscaping Create Your own Background challenge.

Determination!! (C4C269)

I really love pulling out some of my stamps that I haven't used in a while and I pulled out my Unity Stamp Co. set  Determination.  I love this little boy in the too big cowboy boots.  I also grabbed my My Favorite Things  Die-namics Star Border and Country Charm and ran them through my Big Shot using Core'dinations Chocolate Box paper.  I layered it all on red paper from Stampin' Up Stacked With Love.  The sketch is from  Crazy 4 Challenges.

I like your face!!! (Deconstructed Sketch #184)

Oh how fun this stamp set it.  It is from Stampin Up and called Cheerful Critters.  I used the bunny along with the new Stampin Up Bow Maker Punch to make the bow.  The pink and green papers are cut out using the My Favorite Things Die-namics Blueprint No. 10.  Added half of a doily and a Little B flower Sticker from Willow Paper and Tools.  I have used the sketch from Deconstructed Sketch 184.

Bovine Scatology (CCT#356)

This week at Cute Card Thursday  the challenge was Just for Laughs.  A while back I found this sentiment and just haven't had a chance to use it.  So I pulled out my Lawn Fawn  Critters on the Farm and inked up the cow.  I wanted them to be looking at each other, so I stamped the cow a second time on an acrylic block and then stamped it on paper.  I needed to go around it a bit with a pen to darken the lines, but it worked.  I added the fence and then the Grassland border from Poppy Stamps.  I also cut out the barn and put it on the inside of the card.

Have my heart. (Tuesday Morning Sketches 283)

Over at Tuesday Morning Sketches,  the sketch was a cute one this week.  I turned it longways and made this card using My Favorite Things stamp and dienamics set, You Have My Heart.    I used a embossing folder from Stampin Up and my ovals too.  I colored the girl and the puppies with my copics and used real old seam binding for the bow.

A Winter Theme

At the Lawnscaping Blog, the challenge was to use a Winter Themed Mood Board that they shared.  So I pulled out my Lawn Fawn Love you S'more and Critters in the Arctic stamp sets and had some fun.  I used the stitched hillside borders leftovers to make the blue hills after using them for the grass.  I got out my flower soft for the bunny and added some snow.

Let us be silent. . .. .

I have been having so much fun playing with all my Christmas goodies and yesterday I thought I needed to make a few thinking of you cards.  I love this sentiment from Unity Stamp Co.'s  Let Love Fly by Phyllis Harris that I pulled it and some of my Unity stamps out to play.  The bird I got in a grab bag from Unity so I am not sure of the name.  I used my new Spellbinders Lattice Rectangles and ran some pink ribbon through the edges.  I ran the pink cardstock through my SU Clouds embossing folder and added the sentiment and the sweet bird to it.  I just love how it turned out.  I decided to upload it to Unity Stamps Friends With Flair for today.

Christmas Leftovers???

The other day while perusing some of the challenge blogs I came upon this challenge, Christmas Leftovers on the Our Creative Corner blog.  Christmas leftovers, oh yes, a few boxes of leftover paper and bows.  So I grabbed a box from the Christmas tealights that was in recycling, terrible picture,  but I had been looking at it the day before thinking it would hold sets of cards for gifts.

I grabbed some gold paper and covered the box with it.  I took some black cardstock and ran it through my Stampin Up Embossing folder Fancy Fan and added to the top and bottom edges, using the SU Adorning Accents to cut the piece on the back top.  I used a Script Star Bits stencil from Balzer Designs and Barn Door Distress Inks on the back.  No matter how I took the photo, it doesn't show that well.  On the front I used a SU Decorative Masks Hearts, mixing gesso with red paint and painted the hearts. This part was something totally out of my comfort zone and new.  I guess I need to get some stencil paste soon and play with it.  These boxes will fit cards and envelopes in them for gifts.

I wasn't too impressed with my first one, so I grabbed a fancier one.  This tealight box had pink and white stripes.  I grabbed a doily and ribbon left over from Christmas and headed into the craft room.  I covered the writing on one side with a piece of white cardstock that I colored with Blush CTMH ink, then added a strip of Doodlebug Lily White Swiss Dot washi tape that I got from my favorite online scrapbooking company, Willow Paper and Tools (plug for my sweet cousin Heather)  Used my Spellbinders Lattice Rectangle, added the white blush colored cardstock and stamped the For You from Lawn Fawn and then grabbed some flowers I had and colored them with the blush ink, added a button brad. Some SU butterflies and some white gems.  Put it all together and added the ribbon.
On the back, I used SU Framelits, Label Collection and SU Creatively Yours stamp set sentiment to cover the writing on there.  I do like them both now.

Using my New Stuff from Christmas

At Cute Card Thursday,  the challenge is What's New. So since my wonderful daughter Catie got me new stamp sets from my favorite stamp store in town, I figured I would use my new Lawn Fawn sets, Bugs and Kisses and Scripty Love.

I absolutely got so excited about these sets that I have also made 20 Valentine bags, they will come later, for the 3 yr. old nephew to take to preschool for his friends.  The little wormies are so cute that I just had to use them for this card.  I hope you think they are cute because I will be using this set a lot.

At Our Creative Corner,  the challenge was for ATC's or ATB's (Altered Trading Cards or Blocks)  I was making a few ATC's with papers from Whimsey Stamps and leftover snowflakes using Festive Flurry stamps and dies from Stampin' Up.  I added Scripty Joy from Lawn Fawn.

Deconstructed Sketch 179

Got a chance this week to play a little so I thought I would join the Deconstructed Sketch challenge.

I used Snow Day paper from Lawn Fawn and the the stamps and Lawn Cuts are all from Lawn Fawn.  The hat and iceberg from Critters in the Arctic and then Winter Penguin.

The bow is tied with Lawn Fawn Gold sparkle cord.

The reason for Christmas.

One of my favorite blogs to peruse daily, Linda's, who is utterly amazing and a member of Spellbinders  International Ambassadors team and also has her own Facebook group,  I Love My Die Cutting Machine.  A few weeks back she used Spellbinders Labels 40 in one of her cards.  I fell in love with them.  So I ordered the Decorative Elements set.    I used them on this card I made with an older stamp from Embossing Arts (probably had this stamp for 10 years or so)  that I just love because it shows the reason for Christmas.

White on White Challenge

At the  Lawnscaping Blog, the challenge this week was White on White.  I really wanted to play along, but wasn't sure what I was going to do.  Yesterday I ran to my local stamp store, Stampadoodle and they know I love Lawn Fawn stamps and Lawn Cut dies.  One of the girls and I went to look at what was in and talk about our favorites and  they had the lawn cut die in for the goodie bag and also the word Joy.  Yep, bought them both.

So this morning, I made the goodie bag.  The goodie bag die is easy to use and the lines are easy to fold on.
Goodie Bag Die

I grabbed some snowflake stamps from the sets Critters in the Arctic and Deck the Halls and embossed them with Winter White embossing powder.  I used some glitter glue on the joy die cut just to give it a little glitter.  I tied it with some white ribbon.  These are perfect size to have in the tree for small presents.  I have also decided to use these to make Valentines goodies for the 3 yr. old nephew to give to his preschool classmates.
